Produced on a fair trade basis by a small family business specialising in textile products. The business is run by a husband and wife team and they subcontract to disadvantaged groups within their community. We have been working with them for over ten years. The business also supports charitable and community based projects.
The hand crafted nature of this range means every piece is unique. Slight variations are exclusive characteristics, reflecting Artisan creativity using traditional techniques. Jungle Print is a beautiful combination of the skilled ancient arts of hand screen printing and Kantha embroidery. Indian textile screen printing has remained unchanged for centuries, using stencil methods to create inspiring designs. It is still customary for family households to stitch together layers of old material into quilts and blankets by using a simple Kantha running stitch. Many Indian families gift them for weddings and new babies, to become treasured heirlooms passed down through generations.
