Empowerment Through Fair Trade
The
destinations we trade with are largely emerging countries with limited
regulatory requirements in general. It follows, that some very
small-scale artisan producers do not wish to, or do not have the ability
to become formalised Fair Trade entities. We respect this choice and
strongly believe these kinds of producers really do need our help. We
are reluctant to exclude them from trading based on cultural norms.
Whilst we always encourage formal recognition and offer assistance in
gaining it, ultimately, we are proud to help with or without it.
Fair Trade Organisations
Namaste is proud to be a BAFTS Member, the British Association for Fair Trade Shops and Suppliers as a Fair Trade Importer.
BAFTS
Fair Trade Network UK is a network of independent shops and suppliers
dedicated to promoting Fair Trade retail in the UK. BAFTS provides a
structure of accountability to its members who adhere to the 10
Principles of Fair Trade as set out by the World Fair Trade Organisation
(WFTO).

WFTO (World Fair Trade Organisation), with some being members of the
