Our recycled rugs are sometimes mixed with sustainable materials such as wool or jute to add hardiness and longevity, the finishes range from braided, chenille and classic rag rugs. Using recycled cotton has several benefits. Creative reuse of already harvested resources (also known as upcycling) prevents landfill volume and utilises byproducts effectively. Surplus offcuts and unwanted materials from garment factories are commonly used in imaginative yarn combinations to produce rugs of distinction. Growing new cotton demands natural resources like water and often involves harsh chemicals. The lesser carbon footprint of manufacturing from existing materials may be preferable, although this depends partly on the scale and method of production. We aim to give you a brief insight into each of our suppliers' activities, including internationally recognised standards and local impacts.
