About this product

Traditionally made handloom patchwork kilim cushion covers. Made in Rajasthan, India for Namaste on a Fair Trade basis. the skilled weavers usually supplement agricultural income with weaving income which can be earned in their own home on looms provided by the exporter. Advances and raw materials are also provided to the weavers. Some production is in village workshops. Kilim production is a skilled art which is passed down from generation to generation and the work attracts good rates of pay. This cushion cover is not pre-filled so please buy our 65 x 65cm cushion inners separately.

Made by a GoodWeave accredited supplier, giving the best assurance that no child labour was used in the making of this product. Namaste and our suppliers both contribute a % of the value of the rugs/furnishings purchased to GoodWeave which then goes back into the communities where they are made!

Established in 1981, they provide valued employment to over 250 people, many of whom are skilled artisans. They have won awards for their contributions to the Indian economy and have a focus on empowering women in the workplace. They are a fully audited social compliance company through Sedex and ISO9001 and rugs are certified by GoodWeave to be free of child labour. The business and the owners contribute and donate for the education of under privileged students.
