Our supplier is a long established business that specialises in hand painted Kashmiri Crafts. Traditional crafts are very important to the economy of Kashmir, a region that has many challenges and our supplier provides valued work to hundreds of self-employed artisans. The artisan painters benefit from good wages on a piecework basis for their skilled work and are able to work at home which enables them to look after family commitments around work. For their permanent workers, wages paid are at least equal to government regulations and workers receive good additional benefits.
