Artisan – Celebrating the best of traditional craftsmanship. These articles illustrate exquisite skill and incredible attention to detail. Mass production and the forces of globalisation threaten artisan producers and their communities, who often struggle to adapt to the competition. UNESCO recognises the importance of the preservation of traditional skills and knowledge and the benefits that are conferred when these skills are passed on, particularly within the same community. By purchasing items that celebrate traditional craftsmanship, Namaste is contributing to the preservation of traditional skills and indigenous cultural heritage and we hope and believe that we are contributing positively to this effort.
