Umang Project - Jaipur

Umang Project - Jaipur

Umang ProjectHandmade Paper Crafts Umang means 'hope' in Hindi and is a pioneering project which works to rehabilitate children in Jaipur, India who have severe learning difficulties due to disability. Umang fights to guide these children back towards the mainstream of society. The project offers education, vocational training, physiotherapy and speech development. Namaste found out about the project through one of our handmade paper suppliers who is supporting it financially. The original artwork has been produced by the children and these are then reproduced in handmade paper. Both our supplier and Namaste donate part of the proceeds of sales back to the project. The recycled handmade paper used is produced from 100% cotton waste.

The project currently has more than 200 children enrolled and needs help. If you would like to donate, sponsor a child, volunteer or just learn more then have a look at the website: www.umangindia.org
