About Namaste

For those customers who do not know us in person here’s a bit of background. Namaste was born out of a trip we made to India and Nepal in 1995/1996. Travelling the length of India on old Indian ‘Enfield Bullet’ motorbikes, we were really inspired by the people and their amazing crafts and, determined not to join the Corporate Ladder, we decided to set up an import business on a Fair Trade basis. The rest, as they say, ‘is history’!

We design over 90% of the goods ourselves and successfully supply hundreds of businesses all over the world, ranging from large department stores to seasonal teashops, as well as retail customers. We have greatly enjoyed the adventure so far and are looking forward to meeting new and interesting customers in the next few years.

While we pride ourselves on our friendly and no-nonsense approach to business combined with modern and sophisticated systems that are designed for 100% customer satisfaction, we also very much welcome suggestions on how to improve our service in any way - whether you would develop new product lines or any other ideas.

Namaste is a widely used greeting in Nepal and India. The literal translation is “I salute the Spirit within you!”
